Morrissey - Grimsby (28/06/11)
Okay, at this point I’ll be honest and say I’m not a massive fan of Morrissey - in fact, I’m much more into The Smiths, though I think Meat Is Murder is quite overdramatic. But nevertheless, I was pretty excited about this gig. Having gotten to the front and dealt with a lot of crazy fangirls to do it (one screamed every time he wiped his sweat off), I really enjoyed this concert - he put on a great show, and he played a lot that I recognised, and a lot of it was all very ‘best of’, though finishing with This Charming Man was an anticipated stroke of genius, because even though we anticipated it, we all loved it anyway. Out of the band, I really loved the bassist, Solomon Walker - I really liked his style and he kept it together very well. That’s pretty much it as far as Morrissey’s concerned - if he comes to town again, I’ll definitely go see him, but if he’s away, I wouldn’t do it alone, I’m not that huge a fan. Wonderful show, though.
