Hugh Laurie's music career ›

is kickstarting with his blues tracks.

Now he’s touring, and his stuff is primitive, but really good.

I like it. It’s different. I like that he’s old enough to know how he wants to sound and to know that he doesn’t want to be too loud about everything. His drummer uses his hands instead of sticks. His bass player uses a bow. Everything about this oozes his name.

Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin (2009)

Joe Bonamassa is pure, pure class. There are trips through depression, topped with awesome peaks; bluesy guitar that rips through, soulful vocals, it’s great. It’s just such a credit to everyone who was involved in its production. Although it’s a slow swell to the real stuff, it’s really brilliant to listen through. This is really an anytime album - listen to it anytime, anywhere, you’ll still enjoy it.
